- AutoText is designed to help you inserting recurrent passages of text into software applications (e.g. e-mail, browsers, word processors, etc.), and saves the user a lot of time and effort.
- Unlike other autotext-applications, AutoText don't use any abbreviations or acronyms, which are difficult to keep in mind. With AutoText it's much easier! Select your text passage from the AutoText-List and the text will be copied into the clipboard. Now you can insert it into any open application with CTRL-V.

Prgoram functions + Keyboard allocation
When AutoText starts, the program places an Icon into the System-Tray (beside the Windows time).
Left click on AutoText-Icon 
, resp. Hotkey (default ALT-F1) opens the AutoText main window.
AutoText main window:
Left click on list item copies text passage into the clipboard:
CTRL-V inserts the clipboard content into the current software application on cursor position.
Sort/move any list item with Drag & Drop:
i.e. press down and hold left mouse button and move the chosen item to the new position.
Right click on AutoText-Icon (or Right click on AutoText main window) opens the popup menu:
Inside the popup menu you can change the language (german/english), the hotkey, and you can edit/create list items with Insert data...
Edit/Create list items
Select Insert data... to open the Data records window:
Text box "Title" shows a short description of the text passage.
Text box "Text" contains the text passage.
Button |< shows 1. data record.
Button < shows previous data record.
Button > shows next data record.
Button >| shows last data record.
Button "New" creates a new data record.
Button "Delete" deletes the current data record.
Button "Save Record" saves the current data record.
Hotkey
Select Hotkey... to open the Hotkey window:
The text box displays the current hotkey, by which the AutoText main window can be displayed or hidden. To change the hotkey you simply have to press the desired key combination. Example: for the hotkey ALT-F1 you have to first hold down the ALT key and press the F1 key too. OK saves the Hotkey, Cancel closes the window.
Please note: it is a system-wide Hotkey! If your hotkey doesn't work, he is already occupied by another program and you have to select another hotkey.
